THE BCE II, THE SECOND GENERATION BOLT CATCH EXTENSION
The new MK I Redi-Mag comes standard with a polymer BCE. For those that would like even greater reloading speed, the BCE II is now available. It is CNC machined from 6061 T6 aluminum alloy and has been extended rearwardly and outwardly so that it is a “can’t miss” for an upward movement of the thumb after magazine insertion. This upward movement of the thumb or heel of the hand to trip the bolt catch is more motion efficient than the old sideways push or slap.
Weight is a critical factor when you attach something to the bolt catch of this weapon. If it is too heavy, it may not lock open the bolt every time when the carbine runs dry. The design and the aluminum alloy combine to keep the total weight to about 5.6 grams, which is about 20% less than the lightest lever type devices.
This patented BCE is securely clamped to the carbine bolt catch by a heat treated 6/32 socket head cap screw (using the same wrench as do those on the Redi-Mag) and a nylon insert aircraft type locking nut. It is designed so that even if it were to get loose, it will not come off the bolt catch..
Intended for use with our Redi-Mags, it works with all versions.
With the Redi-Mag and Bolt Catch Extension, it’s easier to operate the bolt catch than with no Redi-Mag or Bolt Catch Extension.
This pack includes:
- 1 Allen wrench.
- 1 Gen.II Bolt Catch Extension.
- All hardware needed for installation with any Redi-Mag.
It clamps to the bolt catch with an allen head cap screw and an aircraft type nylon locking nut, and is made of CNC machined 6061 T6 aluminum alloy.
